Neil Lennon’s Celtic will reportedly sign Birger Meling from Rosenborg.

According to a report in The Glasgow Evening Times, Celtic are set to sign Birger Meling from Rosenborg in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that Meling is close to agreeing a deal with Scottish Premiership giants Celtic.

The report has also claimed that the 24-year-old could be unveiled before Celtic’s Europa League playoff tie against AIK Stockholm on Thursday evening.

Good signing for Celtic?

Meling is a very good full-back who will be a smart signing for Celtic in the summer transfer window.

The Hoops do need to strengthen in the full-back positions, and the Norway international’s experience will help.

Given that Meling is 24 years of age, there is the possibility of the defender progressing and developing even further, meaning that in a few years’ time, Celtic could sell him at a decent price.

Celtic have been quite busy in the summer transfer window, and have secured the services of Christopher Jullien, Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo and Hatem Abd Elhamed among others.
