David Luiz made his full debut for Unai Emery’s Arsenal yesterday.
Luiz was brought to Arsenal from Chelsea, and Keown hasn’t been the biggest fan of the transfer.
Luiz can be error prone in his defending, and Arsenal’s defence has already been accused of making too many mistakes.
Keown now feels that Luiz may not have been as assertive as he needed to be as an experienced head in Arsenal’s dressing room.
He said: “I’m told already he’s everybody’s mate in the dressing room. That can be dangerous.”
Despite Keown’s criticism, Luiz actually impressed on his first full appearance for Arsenal yesterday.
The Gunners picked up a 2-1 victory over Burnley, with Luiz competing well against the physical strike force of Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes.
That is not to say that Arsenal looked entirely comfortable throughout, but they did enough to pick up the three points.
Unai Emery’s men have now claimed maximum points from their first two Premier League games of the season.
