Tottenham Hotspur managed to hold Manchester City to a 2-2 draw yesterday.
Eriksen was brought back into Tottenham’s line-up after his game-changing impact in Spurs’ first game of the season against Aston Villa.
On the opening weekend Eriksen was introduced from the substitutes’ bench and completely transformed the match, as he helped Tottenham come from behind to claim a 3-1 victory.
However, Eriksen was less effective against City, as he was played in a wider role.
And Neville has claimed that Lucas Moura may have been more suited to starting for Tottenham yesterday.
“I’m surprised Moura isn’t playing because he provides pace that would cause Laporte and Otamendi problems," he said.
"Against Villa you probably get less space. Moura needs space to counter attack into a run in behind. Last week when Eriksen came on he's more suited to playing against deep defences, you come here today and maybe it would have been right to leave Eriksen on the bench and Moura starts.”
Despite Pochettino’s decision to leave Moura out of Tottenham’s line-up, the Brazilian still had a decisive impact.
Moura came off the bench to head home an equaliser from a corner, as Tottenham claimed what could be an invaluable point at the Etihad Stadium.
Spurs managed to pick up a 2-2 draw, with Erik Lamela their other goalscorer on the day.
