Fred Guilbert is yet to make his competitive debut for Aston Villa.

Fred Guilbert has stated on Twitter that he is not injured after he missed Aston Villa’s 2-1 home defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.
Right-back Guilbert is yet to make his competitive debut for Villa, as his absence from the first two matchday squads of the season has raised questions from the supporters.
Many are questioning why he has not featured for Villa yet, as Dean Smith has opted to play the more experienced Ahmed Elmohamady in the right-sided fullback area.
Nonetheless, this was Guilbert’s simple response to Villa supporters on Twitter asking about his current status, as he also shared this message on his personal Instagram where he was supporting his teammates from the stands.
It surprised many Villa supporters when Smith opted to start with Elmohamady and Neil Taylor in the fullback areas, but they haven’t put a foot wrong.
Whilst there is a need for Taylor to provide a more attacking threat from the left-hand side, he has been doing his job from a defensive standpoint.
Nonetheless, with Villa suffering back-to-back defeats from their opening matches, it remains to be seen whether Guilbert or left-back Matt Targett will get a piece of the action in these coming weeks.
