Silva has been impressed with Davies’s determination to play regularly for the Everton first team.

Silva told Everton’s official website about Davies: “Every time Tom gets his chance, I want him to show me he is ready – and that is what he is showing right now. I want him fighting like he is every day to play in our starting XI.”

Starting against Watford

Everton will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Watford at Goodison Park in the Premier League.

The Toffees kicked off their 2019-20 Premier League campaign with a goalless draw with Crystal Palace away from home at Selhurst Park in London.

With Morgan Schneiderlin suspended, Fabian Delph on the sidelines with a thigh injury and Andre Gomes doubtful with an ankle problem, Davies could get his chance to start against Watford.

The 21-year-old central midfielder is a very talented footballer who has done well when he has been called into action for the Toffees.

Meanwhile, Andre Gomes has sent a passionate message to Everton fans on Twitter.

The 26-year-old Portugal international central midfielder spent the 2018-19 campaign on loan at Everton from Barcelona and made the move permanent in the summer of 2019.
