A number of Glasgow Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Andy King's first interview at the Ibrox club following his season-long loan switch from Leicester City.

The acquisition of the 2015-16 English Premier League title winner was confirmed after Steven Gerrard's charges claimed a 3-1 Europa League third qualifying round win over Midtjylland (official Rangers website).

In conversation with the Ibrox media team, King said that, as soon as he knew Rangers were interested in his services, he ruled out any other options, while a phone call from Steven Gerrard and a positive endorsement by ex-Bear Martyn Waghorn served to convince him further.

“I am delighted to be here, I think the size of the club and everything like that and the manager here speaks for itself." the Wales international told the Rangers media team. “I am like any other player, if you hear that Rangers are interested in you then there is only one place you want to go and that was to come here.

“I had a few other options but when a club the size of Rangers come in then it makes the decision really easy. The size of the club, the fanbase, the chance to work with the manager, who I watched a lot growing up and plays the same position as me, are all massive factors and it’s a new experience for me."

Needless to say, King's comments went down well with the Rangers faithful, and some Bears took the time to respond on social media:

King is Leicester’s top scoring midfielder and has played over 375 times for the Foxes, winning championships in the top three divisions in England, as well as being a Wales international with 50 caps, including being part of the team that reached the semi-finals of the Euro 2016.
