On Wednesday, Ajansspor claimed that the 32-year-old Tunisian international had emerged as a target for a Fenerbahce side desperate to add a defender to their ranks before the transfer window shuts at the end of August.
Benalouane only joined Forest in January from Leicester City but he is yet to make an appearance under Martin O’Neill’s successor Sabri Lamouchi thanks to an injury which has kept him out of the first few weeks of the campaign.
But it seems that the veteran centre-back isn’t going anywhere over the next few weeks.
“To answer all your messages guys, I feel really good in the Nottingham Forest family. I love our atmosphere, stadium & supporters,” he wrote.
“My target it’s to come back to the Premier League and make the story here with Forest. I feel really at home so I will go nowhere else. Here I am and here I stay!”

It’s fair to say this is a rather passionate rebuke from a player who obviously loves wearing the famous red shirt of the two-time European champions.
Though Benalouane faces a challenge forcing his way back into Nottingham Forest’s starting XI with Joe Worrall and particularly Michael Dawson impressing in Saturday’s 1-1 draw away at Leeds United. Lamouchi can also call upon Tobias Figueredo, Michael Hefele and new signing Chema Rodriguez.
The Championship is a long, 46-game slog however and Benalouane will get his chance to shine.
