Report: Torino's Iago Falque a doubt for prospective Wolves Europa League tie

Barring an unexpected turn of events, Wolverhampton Wanderers will likely face Torino in the Europa League playoff round, with Wolves 4-0 up against Pyunik from the first leg and Torino boasting a 5-0 lead over Shakhtyor.

Reports from Italy are suggesting that one of the Toro's key players remains out injured and as such is a fitness doubt for the playoff round, a two-legged affair with fixtures taking place on 22 and 29 August.

 

According to Calcio News 24, Iago Falque has missed out on Walter Mazzarri's squad list for the second-leg trip to Belarus after he suffered an ankle injury against Hungarian side Debrecen three weeks ago.

The report states that Falque's layoff was initially expected to be short, but his participation in the prospective tie between Wolves and Torino remains in serious doubt, with club staff continuing to monitor his condition.

The winger has been with Torino since 2016, initially joining on loan from Roma and then completing a permanent move in January 2017, and is one of the team's key players, boasting 104 competitive appearances for the club, with 32 goals and 22 assists under his belt, according to Transfermarkt.
