Aston Villa spent heavily in the transfer market this summer.

Aston Villa ace Neil Taylor spoke to reporters about Dean Smith’s summer transfer business, and suggested that he has been impressed by how hard-working all of the new signings are, as quoted by the Daily Star.

Smith brought 12 new signings to Villa Park for a combined price of around £144 million (Daily Star), but many fans and pundits believe that there has been too much of a turnaround in the playing staff.

The Villans lost their first Premier League game away at Tottenham, but they cannot be judged on just one match, especially considering the fact it was against a Champions League finalist.

And when speaking to reporters, Taylor highlighted how all of Aston Villa’s new signings have the kind of attributes needed to succeed in the Premier League, as quoted by the Daily Star:

“The good thing I can see from the players we’ve recruited is they are hard-working lads, with something to prove in this league. Those are exactly the type of players you want to have.”

Next up for Aston Villa is a home game against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday, and Smith will be desperate for his team to get off the mark with a victory over Eddie Howe’s men.

And in order for that to happen, his new signings need to get up to speed with the Premier League sooner rather than later.
