John Terry joined Aston Villa's coaching set-up, along with Dean Smith in October last year and helped guide the club to the Premier League.

Cesc Fabregas has stated on Instagram that he will 'never know' why John Terry retired after he showed off his technical skills during Aston Villa training on Tuesday.

Villa will play their first home match of the Premier League season on Saturday when they host Eddie Howe's Bournemouth, with a number of summer signings yet to experience the feeling of playing at Villa Park.

As a result, it seems as though the club has taken the decision, for a day, to train away from their Bodymooth complex and instead train at the club's home ground, where Terry showed off some impressive piece of skill.

Terry's impressive first touch during training has not gone unnoticed with a number of current players given their reaction to that moment, including his former Chelsea teammate Fabregas and former loanee Tammy Abraham.

Two seasons ago, Terry helped Villa to the Championship play-off final, but they suffered a heartbreaking defeat to Fulham at Wembley.

That proved to be in a blessing in disguise for Villa, but not many people would have predicted what happened 12 months later.

Terry ended up hanging up his boots, and some months later, he found himself being part of Smith's coaching staff, who replaced the sacked Steve Bruce.

They guided Villa back to the promised land as they beat Derby County in the Championship final in May, with Terry playing his part in helping the likes of Tyrone Mings produce outstanding performances.
