With Jonathan Kodjia out injured, some Villans faithful hope the academy graduate can feature at Villa Park.

A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on Dean Smith’s player fitness update ahead of the Premier League game against Bournemouth at Villa Park on Saturday, as quoted in the Birmingham Mail.

Top-flight football returns to B6 this weekend for the first time in three years as Tyrone Mings’ old club comes to town, Villa hoping to put their opening-day defeat to Tottenham Hotspur behind them.

However, Smith will be without James Chester, Kortney Hause and Jonathan Kodjia for the game, confirming that Chester is “still missing”, as is Hause after getting an ankle injury in the friendly against RB Leipzig.

As for Kodjia, he got injured early on against Tottenham but saw the match out, the “high ankle sprain” he picked up seeing him ruled out for an estimated 10 to 12 days, thus potentially missing the Everton game too.

Here is what some of the claret and blue faithful said on social media regarding Smith’s update – a few hoping that 21-year-old Villa academy graduate Keinan Davis will be considered by the boss:

Davis has made 44 senior appearances for Villa, 31 of which came in the 2017-18 season, while last season he saw less game time – just seven senior games for the Villans in 2018-19 (Transfermarkt).
