Tottenham Hotspur’s Mauricio Pochettino is one of the best coaches in the world.

Tanguy Ndombele reckons that Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is the ‘perfect’ coach to take him to the next level.

Spurs broke their club record on spending £63 million to sign the French midfielder from Lyon this summer [Sky Sports].

And the 22-year-old offered an insight into what their money had bought with a very exciting Premier League debut last Saturday, scoring in the 3-1 win over Aston Villa.

Pochettino is one of the best coaches in world football and a number of stars have become world-class players under his guidance.

And Ndombele is hopeful that the Argentine can have the same effect on him.

He told Football London: “I really enjoyed the chat that I had with the manager before I joined. He spoke very well about what he was expecting from me and he gave me a great feeling.

“I think he is one of the best coaches around these days, the perfect one for me, just who I need to improve and progress as a player.”

Bigger tests lie ahead for Ndombele, who will be in the first XI this weekend as Tottenham visit Premier League champions Manchester City.

It’s a massive challenge for Pochettino’s side, but if the French midfielder can dominate his opposite number(s) on that day then it’ll go a long, long way to helping them return to North London with three points.
