Eddie Nketiah scored on his Leeds United debut on Tuesday night.

The Whites breezed past Salford City with a 3-0 win to move into the second round of the League Cup.

The 20-year-old, who joined Leeds on loan from Arsenal on deadline day, opened the scoring shortly before the break, tapping home from close range following a brilliant ball from Helder Costa.

And his former Gunners team-mate Stephy Mavididi, who was linked with a move to Elland Road during the summer [Team Talk], has sent him a message on Instagram.

 

The 21-year-old, now with Juventus, wrote 'Just another day on the block' in response to the young hitman.

Bigger tests lie ahead for Nketiah, who will hope to make his Championship bow this weekend.

Leeds visit Wigan Athletic on Saturday and the young Gunner - who was left out of the squad last weekend against Nottingham Forest - is almost guaranteed to at least get a spot on the bench.

Patrick Bamford, United's only senior striker, is likely to lead the line for the third league game in a row.
