Forest brought in Samba late on in the transfer window from Caen, but Sabri Lamouchi threw the goalkeeper in at the deep end last night.
Despite having less than a week training with his new Forest teammates, Samba was put in the Reds’ starting line-up for their Carabao Cup clash with Fleetwood Town and he made a positive first impression.
Forest won the contest 1-0, with Samba looking very solid throughout.
Many Reds fans now want Samba to be promoted to first choice, after Aro Muric’s shaky start.
Samba is way better than Muric. No Samba, no win— footballindexlover (@FITraderNr1) August 13, 2019

Made 3 very good saves, one from a backpost header, two from free kicks, second one really stretched him. Distribution was spot on— Rhys Williams (@RhysWilliams79) August 13, 2019
Well played. Just that Brice Samba is incredible— Josh (@NFFCFUSSEY) (@SemedoSZN) August 13, 2019

Very nice passing and moving and one touch play.
Deserved to win.
Again didn't create as much as we need too but hopefully that will come.
Samba was very good should be our no1 IMO.
WHAT A TIE IN THE NEXT ROUND! youuuuuu reddddssssssss! #nffc
Muric has started both of Forest’s Championship matches so far, but has not covered himself in glory.
Lamouchi now has a real selection dilemma ahead of Forest’s next game, which comes against Birmingham City at the weekend.
