Marcelo Bielsa's charges ran out 3-0 winners over League Two new-boys Salford City in the first round as Arsenal loanee Eddie Nketiah opened the scoring at the Peninsula Stadium, tapped home Helder Costa's low cross shortly before the break.
Gaetano Berardi then doubled Leeds' lead on 50 minutes, flicking the impressive Costa's near-post corner into the back of the net, and Mateusz Klich curled home a third from the edge of the box to kill off the hosts' resistance just before the hour.
Leeds will thus host Stoke at Elland Road, the Potters edging Wigan Athletic 1-0 thanks to Nathan Collins' close-range header in the 10th minute of Tuesday night's tie at the DW Stadium, and the two sides will lock horns in the week beginning 26 August.
Here is what some of the Whites faithful said on social media about the tie:
Perfect draw if you ask me. Decent opposition at home for our youth and fringe players.— Leo Akinfenwe ⚪️ (@DirtyLeedsLeo) 13 August 2019
Good it’s at home. But a rubbish tie.— Tom Holynski (@ThommHol) 13 August 2019

This is time to make our exit I think. Let us leave the extra games to other championship teams. Imo squads too thin to split attentions— Liam Gray Esq., (@li4mlufc) 13 August 2019
