Jamie Shackleton sent a message to Marcelo Bielsa with impressive Leeds performance

Leeds United's win over Salford City was an important one for Eddie Nketiah and Helder Costa, both making their first starts for the Whites.

It was just as crucial for Leeds youngster Jamie Shackleton.

Shackleton, 19, was making his first start of the season and seized his opportunity.

 

The versatile midfielder can play all over the pitch including right-back, but it is in midfield where his creativity comes to the fore.

The teenager is a potential replacement for Pablo Hernandez, who at 34 cannot be asked to start all 46 Championship games this season plus cup appearances.

Shackleton sent a message to Marcelo Bielsa last night which said, 'I'm ready'.

His performance was not graced with a goal or particular moment of magic, instead it was a composed display in which his swift passing kept Leeds moving and wore Salford down.
