Everton new boy Alex Iwobi has told the club's official website that he wants to emulate Richalison's success and development under Marco Silva.
The Toffees had been pursuing a new winger for much of the summer, but having failed to land Wilfried Zaha, they had to pivot to a new target late in the window.
A first bid for Arsenal winger Iwobi was rejected last Wednesday, but the Toffees got their man as they rushed through a last-gasp deal to bring him to Goodison Park.
Iwobi wasn't even on the bench to face Crystal Palace on Saturday, but with a week of training under Silva under his belt, he may be hoping to face Watford this weekend.
The Nigerian international may still have to make do with being a substitute, but fans will be excited to see him in action given his pace and dribbling ability.
Iwobi must live up to his price tag, just as Richarlison has since a big-money move to Everton, and he has admitted that he would love to become just like Richarlison in terms of his development and success under Silva.
Iwobi noted that he looked at Everton's recent transfers, and felt it was an exciting time to be an Everton player, believing there is 'great talent' at the club right now.
“It is exciting times for Everton,” said Iwobi. “I was able to look at the transfers and players they have brought in – some great talent. It is not just me. There were quality players here before [the summer] and they are still here.”
“The manager has worked with Richarlison for a long while and made a name for him. Hopefully he can do the same for not just me but Moise Kean and a few others who came in, too,” he added.
