Eddie Nketiah has taken to Twitter to thank the Leeds supporters after he marked his debut for Marcelo Bielsa's side by scoring the opening goal in a 3-0 win against Salford City in the Carabao Cup.
His bow for Leeds came against the League Two side on Tuesday night as he replaced Patrick Bamford in the starting lineup. And after looking bright throughout the first-half, he opened his account for United shortly before the break.
Nketiah made a brilliant run to the edge of the six-yard box to get on the end of a Helder Costa cross and tap the ball home from close range. It was the kind of goal that will whet the appetite as Costa and Nketiah potentially build a greater understanding as the season continues.
Second-half goals from Gaetano Berardi and Mateusz Klich ensured that Leeds comfortably booked their place in the second round of the competition. But it may well have been Nketiah's finish that will have given the travelling supporters the biggest reason for optimism.
And following the game, the young striker took to social media to express his delight at getting off the mark for the Championship club, while he also sent a message to the fans for their support during the game at the Peninsula Stadium.
Here is the message that Nketiah sent on Twitter after the game...
