The Celtic goalkeeper had one to forget on Tuesday night.
Celtic goalkeeper Scott Bain should be worried – very worried.
The 27-year-old has had a nightmare start to the Hoops’ season and posted another dodgy performance on Tuesday as Neil Lennon’s side were booted out of Champions League qualifying by Cluj.
Celtic lost 4-3 on the night and although Bain wasn’t at fault for all four goals, he has certainly had better days.
The Scotland international, also at fault for one of Motherwell’s goals on Saturday, joined the Premiership champions from Dundee 18 months ago.
And here’s how fans of the Dark Blues reacted to their former keeper’s display on Twitter.

I remember Celtic fans lording it over us when they got Scott Bain for nothing………..— The Dark Blues (@TheDarkBlues) August 13, 2019

Scott Bain was always going to get complacent. Dundee fans tried to warn you lot he has a horiffic attitude problem, his ego is bigger than his ability— Ethan Hampton (@EthanHampton11) August 13, 2019
Bain was a decent keeper for Dundee but is never good enough for a team like Celtic.— Rhumba Roberts (@derrygandhi7) August 13, 2019
Scott Bain really is garbage. Massively landed on his feet after all the carry on at Dundee. Threw one in on Saturday too.— Jamie Beatson (@jamiebeatson) August 13, 2019
Still useless at penalties— James ️ (@NewTownSpeed) August 13, 2019
Bain should be worried because Celtic still have over two weeks left in which to sign players and it’d be a big shock if Lennon didn’t recruit a goalkeeper on the back of these shaky performances.
Getting to the Champions League group stage now isn’t an option, but clearly the Bhoys still have the Europa League proper to get to and, of course, defending all three domestic titles.
There’s a hell of a lot to play for this season and Bain is beginning to look like a liability more than an asset.
