Celtic have been eliminated from Champions League qualifying tonight.
Celtic have been dumped out of Champions League qualifying.
The Hoops welcomed Cluj to Parkhead tonight knowing that they were favourites to progress into the playoff round, after earning an away goal in last week's 1-1 draw.
But the Romanian outfit had other plans and scored four away goals of their own in beating Celtic 4-3 on the night - and 5-4 overall.
Neil Lennon's side had fought back from a goal down to move 2-1 ahead on the night with goals from James Forrest and Odsonne Edouard, before Cluj won and scored a penalty after Scott Brown's handball.
Here's how Chris Sutton reacted to that incident on Twitter.

Lennon's side moved back ahead minutes later when Ryan Christie fired them into a 3-2 lead on the night, and 4-3 on aggregate.
Billel Omrani struck again for Cluj on 80 minutes to dump out the Scottish Premiership champions, while another in stoppage time added insult to injury.
Here's Sutton's final thoughts on Twitter:
That’s the Tierney money gone tonight... the messing about in the last few windows has bitten Celtic on the backside... this day was always coming...— Chris Sutton (@chris_sutton73) August 13, 2019
