Fulham owner was not happy with Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham Hotspur clinched a move for Ryan Sessegnon on deadline day with a couple of hours to spare.
The move was no surprise, Spurs had been tracking the Fulham ace for the best part of two years.
Fulham's relegation combined with Sessegnon's expiring contract made his departure inevitable.
Despite this owner Tony Khan was not impressed with how long it took Tottenham to make their move.
He said that the uncertainty over whether they could get £25 million impacted their transfer plans, with regard to complying with Financial Fair Play.
He blasted Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, telling Football London: It turned out we were not able to buy any players because this transaction had been held up. And when I finally got an offer it was so ridiculously low that I had to make it super clear that we were not going to take a penny less our asking price, which is exactly what we got.
"If it was a penny less than our asking price I was perfectly fine for the player to wind his contract down."
Sessegnon missed out on a pre-season with Spurs thanks to their late move, and picked up an injury while training with Fulham.
He always seemed likely to move to Tottenham, so its confusing they took so long. This was likely Levy trying to see if he could get Fulham to drop their price.
Here is a look at how Tottenham fans reacted to his comments...
So he’s upset with Spurs pursuing a player all the way up to deadline? And not on schedule he wanted? Okay.— Jaihawkk (@Jaihawkk) August 12, 2019

There is a game on court and there is a game off court. Levy excels in the latter. Bite his dust.— Lord Sissoko (@Bee1derful) August 12, 2019
Is Khan unfamiliar with one Daniel Levy? Is he not aware of the reputation of the man across the table? It speaks poorly of him if he truly hadn't done his homework.— Reid Davis (@rundaddyFC) August 12, 2019
I don’t understand what other clubs complain about in regards to Levy. Is it just that he gets the better of them time and time again so they feel they have to justify deals? Chairman’s are supposed to negotiate the best deal for the club, I see no issue.— Harvey (@Harvey_1612) August 12, 2019
