Celta Vigo are reportedly interested in Southampton's Mario Lemina

Mario Lemina failed to force a move away to a fellow Premier League team but he is of interest to a team from Spain according to reports.

According to a report from Faro de Vigo, La Liga side Celta are interested in signing Southampton's Mario Lemina in the coming days.

Lemina was linked to a whole host of Premier League sides at the end of the English transfer window but a move failed to materialise.

However, the report reveals that he is fed up of Southampton and Celta could well swoop in before the end of the transfer window in Spain, which is on 2 September.

Celta, who finished just a place above the relegated teams last season, will look to bounce back this campaign and Lemina would be a worthy signing. Turkish midfielder Okay Yokuslu is set to miss the start of the season due to a knee problem and the Southampton man would slot perfectly in his place.

However, Southampton will reportedly demand £15million for the Gabonese midfielder which could prove to be out of Celta's reach according to the report. With over two weeks left before the window shuts, there is room for negotiations and Lemina could well end up away from the St Mary's.

Southampton have enough bodies in the centre of the park and losing Lemina will not be the end of the world.

£15million for a player who featured just 21 times last season would be a brilliant bit of business by Ralph Hasenhuttl's side, who would be better off without an unsettled player in their ranks.
