It has been claimed by La Gazzetta dello Sport that Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard is one of the attacking players on Lazio's wishlist during the remaining weeks of the transfer window.
Edouard has made a promising start to his third season at Parkhead, scoring once in the Hoops' Champions League qualifiers and two in two games in the Scottish Premiership with Neil Lennon's men.
However, it appears that the Treble Treble winners may face a fight to keep the 21-year-old at Parkhead this summer, with La Gazzetta dello Sport reporting that he is one of the players Simone Inzaghi is considering as he looks to add another striker to his ranks.
Intriguingly, the report suggests that Edouard is one of the cheaper alternatives on Lazio's shopping list, with the Biancocelesti prioritising a move for Andrea Petagna. Fernando Llorente and Bas Dost are also listed as alternative options.
The reason that it is surprising to see Edouard's name listed as one of the cheaper alternatives is that it is extremely difficult to imagine Celtic letting the youngster leave for a fee that is significantly lower than the £25 million that they sold Kieran Tierney to Arsenal for earlier this month (fee reported by BBC Sport).
Sky Sports reports that Celtic spent £9 million to make his loan move from Paris Saint-Germain permanent in 2018. He has scored 26 goals in 56 league games for the Hoops - and that record is immediately more impressive when you consider that he has started just 35 times for the Bhoys in the top flight.
Replacing Edouard would not be easy for Celtic. So while he may not be quite in the same category as Tierney just yet, it would not be a surprise if they demanded a marquee fee if anyone registered any serious interest in the remaining weeks of the summer.
Lazio may have him on their radar, but Celtic showing any interest in selling seems highly unlikely - especially with the Serie A side apparently deeming the forward to be a cheaper alternative to their main target.
