Well, that was really something, wasn't it?
With plenty of drama coming to the fore on the BBC in recent years, there's always space for more Keeping Faith if the series can gain enough of an audience to warrant more episodes. Although there were some eyebrow-raising changes this season, from casting to wardrobe, it looks like creator Matthew Hall's continuation has struck a chord.
But, what are the chances of a third series? It's a question on most people's minds right now, so let's consider the possibilities.

What's Keeping Faith about?
Keeping Faith, which is filmed concurrently with the Welsh language version of the programme Un Bore Mercher, tells the story of Faith (Eve Myles), a small-town lawyer at a family-run firm.
However, Faith has to cut short her much-needed maternity leave after her partner, Evan, disappears shortly after the birth of the pair's third child.
As the reasons behind his disappearance become ever clearer, Faith must find a way to protect her family and her sanity.

Is season 3 on its way?
Now the second series has come to an end, fans are hopeful for a third.
However, at the time of writing, there is no concrete news on whether the show will return; given the buzz since it began airing, on the other hand, we're pretty positive it could make a triumphant return.
Importantly, there has been some news from the talented cast and crew. Over on Twitter, Matthew Hall wrote: "Thank you for all the lovely Tweets this evening. There is a series 3 on the blocks, a writer with lots to say... Down to the BBC and their stats ... Whatever happens, the story won't end."
That paints a somewhat optimistic picture, expressing the idea that season 3 is already being considered by the team. Similarly, star Eve Myles wrote on her Twitter: "I’ll keep it short and...short as I’m already feeling swirlings of sadness in my tum. THANK YOU for watching and shouting about us...THANK YOU for being bloody brilliant! I hope I leave you all with a bit of my Faith in your lives " It's clear she'd find it hard to leave the character behind, and so would fans!

What do the fans think?
On the whole, expectations for a third are rather high.
One Twitter user wrote: "Finished watching #KeepingFaith series 2 this weekend and I can't put into words how much this show has gripped and moved me. @TeamEveMyles thank you for both breaking and filling my heart simultaneously every episode... what a stunning performance ."
Another added: "Wow just wow. Just finished S2E6 of #KeepingFaith and I’m in tears. It’s not often that I cry when a tv series comes to an end! Such a wonderful series about such an amazingly strong woman and mother. Thank you @TeamEveMyles I have loved it! Please can there be a 3rd series??!"
We'll keep an eye on updates.
