A number of Hibernian fans have taken to Twitter after the club confirmed on their official website that they have signed Rangers winger Glenn Middleton on a season-long loan deal.
Middleton is one of the brightest prospects at Ibrox. He made 27 appearances for the Gers in all competitions last season having been handed his first-team debut for the club by Steven Gerrard just a few months after joining from Norwich City.
The 19-year-old scored five goals for Rangers, including one in the Europa League tie with Spartak Moscow. However, the winger was used a lot more sparingly during the second-half of the season, appearing just three times after the winter break.
With Rangers bolstering their wide options during the summer, Middleton's departure on loan will have come as no surprise to the Ibrox faithful. And it appears that a switch to Easter Road could be a good move for the teenager.
Paul Heckingbottom has a good record when it comes to developing young players, and will be hoping that Middleton's arrival can boost the morale after his Hibs side were beaten 6-1 by Rangers at the weekend.
The news has received a mixed reaction from the Hibernian fans on Twitter. There are plenty who are angry about the defeat on Sunday and feel that the club should be doing a lot more in the market, while others appear to have wanted the announcement to be that Heckingbottom was being sacked.
However, there are some who are excited to see Middleton play for the club during the coming season and are expecting big things from the highly-rated youngster.
Here is how some of the Hibernian fans reacted to the announcement...
