Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has told Leeds Live that Arsenal-owned forward Eddie Nketiah could feature against Salford City this evening, and fans of the Championship club should be excited.
Bielsa has told Leeds Live that Nketiah - who joined Leeds on loan from Premier League rivals Arsenal on transfer deadline day - has trained with the first team and will be involved tonight in the EFL Cup against Salford away from home..
Leeds fans should be excited at the prospect of watching the 20-year-old forward, especially after what Arsenal legend Freddie Ljungberg once said about him.
The former Sweden international winger was on the books of the Gunners from 1998 until 2007 and is a club legend, having won the Premier League title twice and the FA Cup three times.
Ljungberg is now a first-team assistant coach at Arsenal, having previously been the academy boss.
The Sun has quoted Ljungberg as saying about Nketiah: "He’s a great football player. He is constantly running, and I could not be happier for him.”
Leeds will head into this evening’s tie as favourites, but Salford can stage an upset if they score an early goal.
