Celtic have been knocked out of UEFA Champions League qualifying after a 5-4 aggregate loss against Cluj at Celtic Park tonight.

Four goals from the Hoops' visitors broke the hearts of home supporters, with a 4-3 win on the night added to the 1-1 draw in Romania last week.

It was a roller-coaster evening, with Neil Lennon's side going behind and ahead in the tie on multiple occasions.

Ultimately goals from James Forrest, Odsonne Edouard and Ryan Christie weren't enough to ensure progression to the next round.

The club will now drop into the UEFA Europa League play-off round for the second successive year.

One of the big turning points in the match was a penalty conceded by Scott Brown that was slotted home, bringing the Romanians back into the tie.

He strangely handled a high ball in the box, with the referee showing no hesitation and pointing to the spot.

It was a howler of a mistake and a lack of composure that fans are not used to seeing from their club captain.
