Victor Anichebe has suggested that he would be interested in a return to Sunderland on Instagram.

Anichebe is currently looking for a club, and he was told to return to Sunderland by a supporter on social media over the weekend.

 

The Black Cats have struggled so far this season, and there is a feeling that signing another striker could benefit Jack Ross’s side.

And Anichebe certainly seems keen for a return to the Stadium of Light, if he is offered one.

Anichebe spent just one season at Sunderland previously, and he scored three times for them in 12 appearances in the Premier League.

The Nigerian forward could offer Sunderland a great deal of physical presence up-front if he was to join.

The Black Cats have rather stuttered out of the blocks in League One this term, with their performances disjoined.

Sunderland are still looking for their first win of the new campaign, after drawing 1-1 with Ipswich Town at the weekend.
