Thomas Frank shares intention to keep Celtic target Rico Henry at Brentford

The Brentford defender has been mooted as a potential replacement for Kieran Tierney at Celtic.

The Brentford manager, Thomas Frank, has revealed his intention to keep the Celtic-linked left-back, Rico Henry, at Griffin Park.

Henry has been mooted as a potential replacement for Kieran Tierney at Celtic.


And according to the Daily Record, the Bhoys boss, Neil Lennon, had him watched last week.

It is claimed that Henry is valued at around £7 million by Brentford.


But according to West London Sport, the offer of a new contract could be forthcoming.

And speaking to the same publication, Frank said: “Rico is one of our most talented players.

“We all know how difficult it is to find good left-footed full-backs and wing-backs and he’s one of the most talented in the division. So we definitely want to keep him longer term.”

Celtic have already signed one new left-back in the shape of Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo, although they have lost Emilio Izaguirre as well as Tierney.

Despite their shortage in Henry's position, the Bhoys have also allowed Andrew Gutman and Daniel Church to leave Parkhead on loan.

Unlike Celtic, whose transfer window closes on Monday, 2 September, Brentford would not be able to buy or loan in a replacement was Henry to leave.
