Leeds United face Salford City in the first round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

Leeds fans will be hoping to get their first glimpse of Eddie Nketiah when they travel to face League Two newbies in the first round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

Nketiah joined the Whites on loan from Arsenal on transfer deadline day, but missed the weekend’s draw with Nottingham Forest. It remains to be seen if Marcelo Bielsa deems the striker to be ready for the next game, but there is no question that it could be the perfect opportunity for the youngster to make his bow for United.

Bielsa made a number of changes for the cup competitions last year, so there is every chance that the Leeds lineup will look dramatically different to the team that faced Forest at Elland Road. In fact, Kalvin Phillips is the only player to keep his place in this predicted lineup.

Unsurprisingly therefore, Nketiah is not the only player to make his debut for the club. Fellow deadline day signing Illan Meslier may well replace Kiko Casilla in goal having been at the bench against Sabri Lamouchi’s men.

Gaetano Berardi and Gjanni Alioski may be joined by Pascal Struijk and Robbie Gotts in the back four, with Gotts coming in for Stuart Dallas at right-back.

Jamie Shackleton looked set to come on just before Forest equalised, so he may get the chance to start in Adam Forshaw’s role in the middle of the park, with Mateusz Bogusz playing at number 10 behind Nketiah.

And there could be a first start for Helder Costa, with Jack Clarke on the other flank to make his first appearance for the Whites since completing his permanent move to Tottenham and loan return to Leeds this summer.
