Wesley Moraes made his debut for Aston Villa at the weekend.
Wesley was in action for Villa in their Premier League game against Tottenham away from home at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday evening.
The 22-year-old forward started the match and played for 74 minutes, as Dean Smith’s side lost 3-1.
Former Tottenham midfielder Redknapp was following the match for Sky Sports, and he was impressed with the performance of the Brazilian and believes that he is a bargain signing.
Redknapp said about Wesley on Sky Sports Premier League (7:51pm, August 10, 2019): “I was very impressed with him. He got a little bit tired towards the end of the game, but the amount of times he held the ball up for his team. I thought his work-rate was very good. He did ever so well for the goal.”
The former Spurs star added: “I think from what I have seen today, I have seen enough to say that £22m is cheap for a player like him because everyone wants that striker that can keep hold of the ball.”
Wesley joined Villa from Club Brugge in the summer transfer window for an initial fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £22 million.
According to Sky Sports, the Brazilian forward scored 17 goals for Club Brugge last season.
Against Tottenham on Saturday evening, the youngster had a pass accuracy of 80%, won one header, made one tackle and one clearance, according to WhoScored.
Villa will return to action this coming weekend when they take on Bournemouth at Villa Park in the Premier League.
