Everton are reportedly determined to sell Cenk Tosun before the transfer window closes elsewhere in Europe.

The English transfer window may have closed, but Everton are hoping that they may be able to agree one more deal before the summer ends, with The Sun on Sunday (11/8; page 59) reporting that the Toffees are making a big effort to offload Cenk Tosun.

Tosun has had an extremely tough time on Merseyside, scoring just eight goals in 39 games since joining from Besiktas for £27 million during the 2018 January window (fee reported by BBC Sport).

The Sun reported earlier this month that he was one of the players set to be included in a bid as Everton stepped up their pursuit of Crystal Palace talisman Wilfried Zaha. Unfortunately for the Toffees and Tosun himself, a deal could not be reached.

He was included on the bench for Marco Silva’s men’s opening game of the new Premier League season against the Eagles on Saturday. But he failed to get on, and it appears that Everton are still determined to get a deal done before the transfer window closes elsewhere in Europe.

The Sun on Sunday (11/8; page 59) reports that the Toffees are making a big effort to move Tosun on, but are still determined to secure a £20 million fee for the Turkey international.

It would be a very good piece of business for Everton if they could recoup anything like their reported asking price for Tosun. The move has not really worked for anyone, so it would be a real boost if they could secure a substantial fee for the striker before the chances of a summer move are dashed entirely.
