Much is expected of Tottenham Hotspur this season.
Spurs have not won a trophy since their League Cup success in 2008, but Mauricio Pochettino now seems to have built a side who are truly capable of achieving something special.
The Argentine signed Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, Ryan Sessegnon and Jack Clarke, although the latter was loaned back to Leeds United.
And although Manchester City and Liverpool seem to be on another level entirely, it would be no surprise to see Tottenham challenge this season.
Jenas sat down to speak exclusively with the Express, and shared what the Spurs players have told him about the season ahead:
“What I do know, from speaking to the players, is that they are desperate to break the drought. But trophies are not easy to come by when Manchester City and Liverpool are as strong as they are in every competition. And I know they are desperate to get that first piece of silverware, and get that monkey off their back.”
Tottenham got their season off to a great start with a 3-1 win over Aston Villa yesterday.
When they were on against the Villans, they really were very, very good.
And Pochettino will be quietly confident that his Spurs side can end their 11-year wait for a trophy this season.
