Tottenham Hotspur signed Ryan Sessegnon on Thursday.

Tottenham Hotspur completed two signings on deadline day, landing both Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon in a late flurry.

Spurs had already broken their transfer record to sign Tanguy Ndombele, whilst Leeds United winger Jack Clarke signed but was loaned straight back to the Championship club.

Mauricio Pochettino has been in the market for further additions though, and finally landed his two long-term targets in the final hours of the transfer window.

Spurs had been pursuing Real Betis playmaker Lo Celso all summer, whilst Fulham talent Sessegnon has been linked with Spurs for more than two years now.

Spurs finally pounced to land him, handing the 19-year-old an immediate return to the Premier League after suffering relegation with Fulham.

Known as one of the top young talents in English football, Sessegnon can play either as a left back or left winger, and hit two goals and six assists in his first Premier League campaign last season.

Sessegnon’s versatility is ideal for Spurs, especially if Pochettino ever decides to revert back to a three-at-the-back system, as he would be perfect as a left wing back.

After Sessegnon completed his move, ex-Spurs striker and Match of the Day host Gary Lineker took to Twitter to celebrate the move, believing he is a ‘very talented’ youngster with a bright future, and hopes to see him ‘flourish’ for Spurs.
