Tottenham Hotspur should be busy in the transfer market today.
Tottenham Hotspur have left a number of deals until the final day of the window, and Mauricio Pochettino's side should be active in terms of finalising both incomings and outgoings.
Two deals appear close, but Bruno Fernandes and Paulo Dybala appear to be in limbo, whilst there's work to do at right back in the final hours of the transfer window. Here are some of the key names surrounding Spurs today...
Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon
These two deals have rumbled on for months, but are now set to completed together. The Telegraph report that playmaker Lo Celso will join from Real Betis in a deal worth around £55million, whilst Fulham teenager Sessegnon will follow, in a deal worth £20million plus Josh Onomah. Pochettino has wanted these signings for some time, and whilst it's taken longer than hoped, they're now close.
Sporting star Fernandes has been lined up over the last week by Spurs, and has continued to be linked in recent days. The 24-year-old starred last season with 32 goals and 18 assists, and has received plenty of interest this summer. A move to Spurs now seems unlikely with Lo Celso imminent, and the Daily Mail report that a switch to Tottenham is 'on stand-by' just in case any issues arise with Lo Celso.
There are conflicting reports emerging about Juventus star Dybala. He's been linked with Tottenham for a couple of weeks now, and the rumours have ramped up this week. The Independent report that Spurs have agreed terms with Juventus and with Dybala himself, with only an issue over his image rights holding up a move. However, Daily Mail claim that wages and the image rights issue have been to difficult to overcome. With just hours left of the window, Spurs might run out of time for this one.
That same report from the Daily Mail claims that Spurs have interest in Nice right back Youcef Atal, though it's unclear whether a late move will be pursued. Spurs have issues at right back, and the pacy, attack-minded Atal would fit the bill. Soccer Link in France now suggest that Atal has spoken to Nice about a potential exit, and has been told that his price tag is around €30million (£27.5million) – so at least Spurs know what to pay if they do want the Algerian before the deadline.
One right back is on the radar in Atal, but one could go in Aurier. The Ivorian is out of favour under Pochettino despite Kieran Trippier's exit, and Paris Saint-Germain are keen to re-sign him according to the Daily Mail – just two years since selling him to Spurs in the first place. Spurs most likely won't stand in his way, as he allegedly wants to leave the club.
