Newcastle United have some business to do before 5pm.
According to The Northern Echo, Newcastle United winger Rolando Aarons is set for a loan move away from the club before the transfer deadline – but Andy Carroll has arrived at the club’s training ground.
The Magpies have been productive in recent weeks, signing Emil Krafth, Jetro Willems, Allan Saint-Maximin and Joelinton to boost Steve Bruce’s squad.
There should be outgoings before the deadline though, with Jacob Murphy and Kelland Watts heading out on loan – but it’s now added that Aarons may go too.
That may be a surprise to some, as the 23-year-old was expected to get another chance under Bruce having worked together at Sheffield Wednesday last season, with some even expecting him to feature at left wing back this weekend.
Aarons is expected to go out on loan though, with his destination a mystery at the moment, and just about an hour and a half to set up a deal.
There is another incoming though, as Carroll’s move back to Newcastle is set for completion on a free transfer following his exit from West Ham United this summer.
The Chronicle have exclusively revealed a photo of Carroll arriving at the club’s training ground, meaning his move is all set to go through.
The 30-year-old striker left Newcastle over eight years ago, but now returns to his boyhood club to boost Bruce’s attacking options and offer a veteran presence alongside youngster Joelinton.
