Newcastle United may be active on transfer deadline day.

Newcastle United have been busy in the transfer market since Steve Bruce’s arrival as manager, landing Jetro Willems, Allan Saint-Maximin and Joelinton to bolster their squad.
More new faces are needed on the final day of the transfer window though, and whilst one incoming deal is close and one outgoing may be on the cards, there should be even more business done – and here are some of the key names involved for the Magpies today…
Emil Krafth
One deal expected to go through is that of Amiens defender Krafth. The Swedish international right back only joined Amiens permanently from Bologna earlier this summer after a successful loan spell, but the Ligue 1 side will make a quick profit. The Guardian claim that Newcastle are paying £5million to sign the 25-year-old, and having been spotted on Tyneside on Wednesday, his arrival is imminent.
Thiago Maia and Jordan Ibe
Two names linked are Lille midfielder Maia and Bournemouth winger Ibe. The Chronicle now claim (16:36) that both players have been offered to Newcastle, but whether the Magpies try to rush through deals is another matter. Ibe is down the Bournemouth pecking order after the arrivals of Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld and Harry Wilson, but the arrival of Allan Saint-Maximin may rule him out – and as for Maia, a move for the Brazilian doesn’t really add up unless Isaac Hayden is leaving.

Moussa Sissako and Stanley N’Soki
Two other names linked over the course of the summer both play for Paris Saint-Germain, with defenders Sissako and N’Soki touted for moves to St James’ Park. The Daily Mail now claim that both players are wanted on deadline day, suggesting they could both arrive. Defender Sissako makes sense as one for the future, but it would be a surprise to see left back N’Soki join following the signing of Jetro Willems last week.
Jacob Murphy
Relations between Newcastle and Sheffield Wednesday were frayed when the Magpies pinched Owls boss Bruce earlier this summer, but the Newcastle manager may allow one of his players to head to Hillsborough. Wednesday are trying to take Newcastle winger Murphy on loan, and the Sheffield Star claim that they are now hopeful they will win the race for the wide man, who hasn’t lived up to expectations at St James’ Park.
