Arsenal finally got their man today after weeks of long and hard negotiations with Celtic.
Arsenal completed the signing of Kieran Tierney from Celtic for £25 million today, as confirmed by BBC Sport, and Gary Lineker took to Twitter in reaction to the Gunners signing the Scotland international.
The 22-year-old will surely be a huge hit for the Gunners. He is in a similar mould to Liverpool’s Andy Robertson, with his attacking intent being a key feature of his game.
Arsenal have Nacho Monreal, 33, and Sead Kolasinac, 26, as their current left-back options, but in the cold light of day, neither have really proven to be consistent performers for the north London outfit.
Tierney will provide stiff competition for the aforementioned two players, and will undoubtedly be a breathe of fresh air at the Emirates.
Arsenal fans will be hoping that the 22-year-old makes a similar impact for the Gunners to the one made by Robertson at Liverpool.
Lineker is certainly a big fan of the left-back.
He took to Twitter, praising Arsenal for signing Tierney from he Hoops, suggesting that he likes the young Scot a lot:
Like Tierney a lot. May well have tweeted as much a couple of years ago. https://t.co/lORxUhS0Uc— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) August 8, 2019
