Arsenal have reportedly struck a deal with Celtic.
After weeks of negotiations, Arsenal have finally agreed a fee to sign Kieran Tierney from Celtic.
BBC Sport report the Gunners have met Celtic’s demands of £25 million for the left-back.
Tierney addresses a problem position for Arsenal, strengthening a defence widely regarded as the weakest among the top six.
Celtic fan, former player and pundit Chris Sutton has given his reaction to Tierney’s impending exit.
He believes Arsenal have landed a bargain, and pleaded for Celtic to spend the money.
All the best to @kierantierney1 at Arsenal… £25 million is cheap… once he’s fit Arsenal will have a good player on their hands⚽️— Chris Sutton (@chris_sutton73) August 7, 2019
Fact…No excuses from the Celtic board not to spend now… with 9 and 10 very possible and the Champions League riches very close…— Chris Sutton (@chris_sutton73) August 7, 2019
While Arsenal’s transfer deadline is today, Celtic have until the end of the month to sign players.
Celtic have got the fee they wanted, and should have been making plans for this moment.
If the money is reinvested into the team before the end of August, Neil Lennon’s side will be even more favoured to retain the title.
