According to the Bristol Post, Eddie Nketiah is ‘poised’ to sign for Bristol City rather than Leeds United.

Leeds have registered late interest in the Arsenal front man, with Marcelo Bielsa keen to bring him to Elland Road.

However, the Bristol Post have suggested that they fully expect him joining Lee Johnson’s side, despite Leeds’ interest.

Leeds actually beat Bristol City 3-1 on opening day, and winning the race for Nketiah would be some way for the Robins to get a bit of revenge.

Leeds have been keen to get a deal for Nketiah done, as they need to replace Kemar Roofe.

The Whites clearly need another striker following Roofe’s departure, and the Arsenal front man could have been an appealing addition.

Nketiah possesses pace and a clinical finish, with his pre-season form at Arsenal very eye catching.

Bristol City have been working on the deal for weeks now though, and their local press suggest that they are not expecting any hiccups in the deal, even though Leeds have complicated matters.
