The Frenchman joined Tottenham Hotspur for a club record fee in June.

Ledley King sat down for an exclusive interview with Football.London, and urged Tottenham fans to be patient with new signing Tanguy Ndombele.

The 22-year-old joined Spurs from Lyon earlier this summer for a club record fee believed to be worth in excess of £62 million, according to BBC Sport.

Much is expected of the France international at Tottenham, and he will be under real pressure to perform right from the very start.

King urged caution, however, when speaking exclusively to Football.London, suggesting that it might take some time for Ndombele to acclimatise to the pace of the Premier League:

“He’s an all-round type of midfield player. I think it will take him a little bit of time to get used to it here. The French league is different and I think he’s already said that the intensity of training sessions here and especially with Mauricio is going to take some getting used to.”

The English top flight is obviously a big step up from Ligue 1, but the 22-year-old midfielder seems to have all of the ingredients needed to succeed in the Premier League.

Ndombele possesses power, pace and energy in abundance, and his arrival at Tottenham will surely help fill the void left behind by Mousa Dembele.

For now though, Spurs fans need to be patient with the Frenchman. Too much pressure on his young shoulders might hinder his progress in north London.

Whatever happens, however, he surely will be backed to the hilt by Tottenham fans.
