Jack Clarke might struggle for regular chances if Leeds United sign the Liverpool player.
This rumour about Ryan Kent joining Leeds United isn’t going away.
According to Goal.com, United’s negotiations with Liverpool are going well and the Championship side could be paying up to £10 million for him overall.
Some Leeds fans suggested over the past week that they didn’t want Kent in West Yorkshire, by virtue of the fact that quite a few wingers have joined the Whites already.
And one player who might not want him there either is Jack Clarke.
The 18-year-old re-signed for Leeds on a season-long loan last month after joining Tottenham Hotspur, but Clarke, like Kent, is a left-sided winger and the youngster could be in major trouble if the 22-year-old joins.
That is because Clarke is already behind Jack Harrison in the pecking order and the addition of Kent would make it much harder for the Spurs new boy to play regularly.
Manager Marcelo Bielsa must have a trick up his sleeve, because he likes Harrison and his outstanding pre-season performances indicate that he won’t be dropping out to accommodate Kent.
But either way, it makes Clarke’s route to the first XI that bit more complicated when there’s not one, but two people ahead of him in the same position.
