Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Nice right back Youcef Atal.

Tottenham Hotspur are looking for reinforcements ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline, and are prioritising the likes of Ryan Sessegnon, Giovani Lo Celso and Bruno Fernandes.

However, they also find themselves in a strange position at right back, as Juan Foyth picked up an injury against Bayern Munich last week and will be out until next month.

Kyle Walker-Peters hasn’t exactly thrived in pre-season, Serge Aurier isn’t a man in favour and Foyth himself is a centre back being converted into a right back.

Fans are desperate to see a right back arrive before the transfer deadline, and a popular name has been Nice talent Youcef Atal.

The Algerian, 23, impressed going forward for Nice, hitting six goals and one assist from right back, having only arrived from Paradou AC last summer.

Atal is quick, skilful and dangerous going forward, which is what Tottenham need – and DZ Football in Algeria report that Spurs are indeed interested in Atal.

That’s not a huge surprise, as The Telegraph reported back in May that Tottenham had held talks about a £34milion deal for Atal, but nothing ever came of that link.

News of Spurs being interested again so close to the deadline has sparked excitement, with fans urging Tottenham to get a deal done and do anything it takes to get Atal, feeling he ‘looks phenomenal’ and exactly what Pochettino needs.
