According to the Northern Echo, Newcastle United midfielder Jack Colback is surplus to requirements again at St. James’ Park.

Steve Bruce had handed Colack a second chance at Newcastle this summer, with the midfielder coming back and playing matches over pre-season.

However, it seems that Bruce has now made Colback available for sale again at St. James’ Park.

The flame haired midfielder could now depart Newcastle before deadline day, with Henri Saivet and Achraf Lazaar also up for grabs.

It is also stated that Javier Manquillo may well be let go by Newcastle before the start of the new campaign.

Newcastle's Jack Colback applauds the Newcastle fans after the pre season friendly between Hearts and Newcastle on July 14, 2017 in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Colback’s departure is likely to be greeted by relief by Newcastle supporters, who have not exactly taken to the central midfielder in recent years.

Newcastle supporters were not best pleased when Colback was being utilised over pre-season, but it seems that he won’t be offered much of a second chance.

If Newcastle do sell the quartet before deadline day passes, Bruce may still need more additions to ensure that his squad is big enough to cope with the demands of a Premier League season.
