Kevin Campbell has lauded the qualities of reported Everton target Abdoulaye Doucoure but warned the club that he is going to be 'worth a lot of money'.
BBC Sport recently reported that the Toffees had a £30 million bid rejected for midfielder Doucoure by Watford, as the Hornets aim to keep hold of their 6ft ace prized asset before Thursday's deadline.
Doucoure would be a great capture for Everton because in recent seasons he has produced outstanding displays in the middle of the park for Watford.
Speaking to Football Centre on Sky Sports News (05/08/2019 at 11:50 am), former Goodison Park favourite Campbell reacted to the news that Everton had a bid rejected for Doucoure.
"I think he will be key," Campbell told Sky Sports News. "He's high energy, he's box-to-box, he puts his foot in, he's good in both boxes and he can run beyond the striker.
"A player like that is worth a lot of money. Everton are having to up their bid if they want him."
It remains to be seen whether the Toffees can secure the signature of Doucoure's because time is running out for the Merseyside club.
Thursday's deadline is edging closer as Marco Silva will be hoping to add more legs to his midfield following the departure of Idrissa Gueye.
Whilst the likes of Jean Philippe Gbamin and Fabian Delph have joined Everton this summer, Gueye's absence in midfield will be hard to fill.
