Ibrahim Amadou is swapping La Liga for the Premier League with Norwich City reportedly beating Dean Smith’s Aston Villa to the French defender.

Sevilla defender Ibrahim Amadou is set to fly to England on Tuesday in order to seal a loan move to Norwich City, according to France Football, with Daniel Farke’s side set to beat Aston Villa to his signature.
With Villa and Sheffield United breaking their transfer record on what feels like a weekly basis, the other Premier League newcomer has been rather overshadowed during the summer.
The Canaries have barely spent a penny since winning the Championship title in the spring, landing Ralf Fahrmann and Patrick Roberts on loan while signing Swiss international striker Josip Drmic on a free.
According to reports in France, Amadou could be the latest bargain signing secured by Norwich’s esteemed sporting director Stuart Webber.
The 26-year-old, who captained Lille during Marcelo Bielsa’s ill-fated spell at the Stade Geoffrey Guichard, only moved to Sevilla last year for £13 million (Estadio Deportivo). But he struggled in La Liga, starting just seven times in the Spanish top flight.

Interestingly, big-spending Aston Villa had apparently held talks with Amadou but France Football claim that Norwich have almost won the race.
The commanding centre-back will travel to Anglia today in order to seal a loan move which will see Norwich have an option to buy Amadou permanently for £9 million.
Though, with Ezri Konsa, Tyrone Mings, Kortney Hause and Bjorn Engels all joining Villa in recent weeks, a move to Norwich probably makes more sense.
