Leeds United's Championship campaign could not have got of to a better start.

The Whites won 3-1 away to Bristol City with Marcelo Bielsa's side reaffirming their status as one of the favourites for promotion.


Young talent Alfie McCalmont has revealed via Twitter he was part of the side which travelled to Bristol for the game.

McCalmont did not make the bench, but clearly seemed happy with the experience.

Northern Ireland youth international McCalmont, 19, starred for the Whites in pre-season.

He clearly is in Bielsa's thoughts and it's possible he could figure in the upcoming EFL Cup game against Salford.

The young talent is a midfielder with an eye for goal, and when he does get an opportunity, he could well mark his debut by getting on the scoresheet.

Leeds are fortunate to have such talent in reserve, and a manager who is not afraid to give chances to academy prospects.
