Will West Ham United add another striker to their ranks before the transfer window slams shut?

West Ham have had a pretty healthy transfer window as they will be preparing for the new Premier League season which officially starts next Friday.

The deadline to conclude deals is edging closer as it seems as though West Ham are keen to add more players to their ranks before Thursday’s cut-off point.

The Daily Mail have claimed that the Hammers are still keen on a couple of players, including Brentford hitman Neal Maupay.

If the Premier League club can pull off a deal for the Championship player then it will see their summer transfer window end in a pretty stunning fashion.

Maupay is one of the best strikers outside of England’s top-flight, and his 25 goals for the Bees last season was proof of that.

Whilst West Ham have broken their club transfer record for the capture of Sebastien Haller, the signing of Maupay might just be the most impressive.

For years now, the Hammers have been looking for that striker. Some have shown promise, whilst others have flopped in a pretty emphatic fashion.

It remains to be seen what Haller provides Pellegrini ahead of the new campaign, but Maupay, given his qualities, might just be the striker they have been looking for.

He doesn’t just provide goals for the team. His ability to play well without scoring is also one of his strengths as he has a bit of nastiness and edge to his game.

The Frenchman can play up top on his own or can play with another man if need be. But one thing is for sure, he scores goals, ruffles up defenders and gets the best out of those players around him.
