Celtic reportedly plan to target Hull City defender Stephen Kingsley if they sell Kieran Tierney.

According to a report from The Sun on Sunday (4/8; page 67), Celtic plan to consider a move for Hull City left-back Stephen Kingsley should Kieran Tierney leave Parkhead during the final days of the transfer window.
Tierney’s future has been a key talking point for much of the summer, with BBC Sport reporting earlier in the month that Arsenal have made a number of bids – including one at £25 million – for the Scotland international.
The Hoops will obviously be hoping that the deadline passes with Tierney staying put. But, wisely, they are reportedly considering potential replacements for the academy graduate should he leave.
And The Sun on Sunday (4/8; page 67) reports that one of the players that Celtic plan to target if Tierney goes is Kingsley, with Hull ready to loan the 25-year-old out as they look to free up some space on the wage bill.

Kingsley – who played the full 90 minutes as Hull opened their Championship campaign with a 2-1 defeat against his former club Swansea City on Saturday – has been a decent signing for the Tigers having come in in the wake of Andrew Robertson’s move to Liverpool in 2017.
Robertson has taken his game to a completely different level since moving to Anfield, but it may stand Kingsley in good stead if he does move to Celtic that he has experience of being signed as a replacement for a key man.
However, he would head to Parkhead with a massive point to prove if he did get the chance to join Celtic as it seems more than likely that the Hoops fans would be incredibly underwhelmed about the idea of Kingsley coming in to make up for Tierney’s exit.
