Divock Origi was in action for Liverpool against Manchester City on Sunday.
Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Divock Origi against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.
Origi featured for Liverpool in the FA Community Shield against Premier League rivals Manchester City.
The 24-year-old striker started the match and played for 79 minutes, as the Merseyside outfit lost on penalties.
The Belgium international did not have a great game and struggled to make an impact.
Liverpool fans were not impressed with the display produced by Origi and have criticised the former Lille striker on Twitter.
Below are some of the best comments:
2nd half we played so well so im actually okay. Just think people may now realize Origi just isn’t the answer.— Big Emre (@LiamProjectLFC) August 4, 2019
Gomez was poor as was Gini.— #LFC (@anf_lfc) August 4, 2019
Salah was wasteful.
Trent looked unfit.
Fabinho did well enough but not 100%.
Virgil, Keita, Matip and Shaqiri looked bright when they came on.
Big, big season ahead. Feels like a signing or two is needed.
Drop off in quality of mane to origi is real #LFC— Freddie (@_freddiej16) August 4, 2019
get rid of origi, he’s like a donkey, should have had wilson on there…— Joe Hughes (@joe__mayo) August 4, 2019
Hmmm. Not all doom and gloom as we grew into the match. We look leggy in defence & the midfield though. Bobby and Mo look sharp which is a big bonus. Origi needs to do more at times and believe in himself a bit more. Must improve to get anything. City look good as per. #LFC— Chris Searle (@SearlyC82) August 4, 2019
We like origi because it’s a joke but I think the club took us seriously and think he’s good ffs— Sam (fan account) (@sxm_lfc) August 4, 2019
Wow Hendo doing nothing and so slow.— My Surname is Khan™ (@ejaz_k) August 4, 2019
Trent and Robbo struggling.
VVD not his assured self.
Salah missed 3 chances.
Firmino looks lively.
Origi is crap as a starter.
Need to win that midfield battle mainly… That’s our biggest problem today. #LFC#CommunityShield
Im not a deluded Liverpool fan, im a fan who wants the best for my club… and Origi is not of Liverpool standard.— John Ⓣⓐⓣⓔ (@Sya_Tshabalala) August 4, 2019
If we dont win the league the blame will go solely to Klopp and the owners.
He’s the only one other than Firminho who has been good so far..— shubham singh (@shubham281) August 4, 2019
Others are just being clumsy lazy..
Hendo gini & Origi cant hold the ball

Bring on Brewster! Take Origi off. #LFC— Davidcito (@djkmia) August 4, 2019
Squad player again?
Origi is a good striker, but the Belgian is not good enough to play week in and week out as a starter.
The Belgian has been a squad player under manager Jurgen Klopp, and that is not going to change anytime soon.
Liverpool have far better players than Origi in their squad, and the Belgian is unlikely to feature regularly this season.
According to WhoScored, Origi played just 368 minutes in the Premier League last season and just 217 minutes in the Champions League for Liverpool.
