Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Divock Origi against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

Origi featured for Liverpool in the FA Community Shield against Premier League rivals Manchester City.

The 24-year-old striker started the match and played for 79 minutes, as the Merseyside outfit lost on penalties.

The Belgium international did not have a great game and struggled to make an impact.

Liverpool fans were not impressed with the display produced by Origi and have criticised the former Lille striker on Twitter.

Squad player again?

Origi is a good striker, but the Belgian is not good enough to play week in and week out as a starter.

The Belgian has been a squad player under manager Jurgen Klopp, and that is not going to change anytime soon.

Liverpool have far better players than Origi in their squad, and the Belgian is unlikely to feature regularly this season.

According to WhoScored, Origi played just 368 minutes in the Premier League last season and just 217 minutes in the Champions League for Liverpool.
